We all know the skin is to be prepped if you want it looking fabulous on a specific day. Fret not it's okay if you don't have that long before the wedding day, these steps can also be applied weeks and days prior to said day. Just get on a bridal skin care routine as soon as possible and don't go as hard as Cassie did, that's not healthy for anyone. Here's my few recommendations of steps you can add to you bridal skincare routine.

  1. Schedule Professional Facials

Being a bride is the perfect excuse for some extra pampering, I'd advise monthly facials at least starting from 3 months before wedding month to really refresh you skin, if you're looking for something affordable have the facials a month before and on wedding month to give your home solutions a boost. You can also request extractions, your beautician will get all the dirt out of your pores, leaving your skin looking and feeling extra fresh and glowing.

2. Manage excess facial oil

Use a mild face wash, skip the toner and add a lightweight oil free moisturizer. Excessive face washing will kick oil production into overdrive, which is no good for getting that bridal glow.

3. Use salt scrubs to soften elbows

One thing most brides forget about when considering their bridal routine is elbows, yep elbows are important on your wedding day. I went to a wedding once, and the bride had ashy elbows, who's to blame for such a petty yet important mistake many I say including the bride but of course her mother came to the rescue. To avoid this mishap add a bath with bath salts and sodium bicarbonate, it will breakdown any patches and make your skin a sponge for moisture.

4. Wear SPF30 on your lips

If you spend lots of time outdoors, especially in windy, sunny or cold weather, a thick balm with SPF30 will keep your lips hydrated and ready for the you may kiss the bride moment, and for pecking relatives if your are like mine and like doing that.

5. Deep clean with a Mask

Masks aren't meant to replace or shortcut certain step in your skincare routine like washing. Since it stays on longer, a mask will help melt the hard sebum (or oily substance) in your pores, something washing alone wont do. I f your skin is oily, use a mask every other day. If you have dry skin, once or twice per months should keep oil and dirt from building up.

6. Clean Your MakeUp Brushes

Every time you swipe on your blush with a dirty brush, you add a layer of acne-causing bacteria to your skin. Cleaning your brushes is easy, rinse them off first with warm water then wash them thoroughly preferably with you make up remover then your face wash to leave some goodies for your skin and leave your brushes smelling good.

7. Eliminate Zits with Benzoyl Peroxide

If you've got a problem pimple, theres a way to get rid of it. And no, popping it isn't one of them. Dab Benzoyl Peroxide gel directly on the blemish. This will help dry it out.
